Thread: Regarding the Acquisition of Hats

  1. X| REZO. That's beautiful. I would've told my mama to read this to me every night.

Those last two pages don't really seem neccessary, but they don't take anything away. The coloring is fine. It fits with the dreaminess.

Some parents would object to the chopping off the head thing, but then they'd flip out about everything. A story is just a story and kids need entertainment just like old folks. Not everything has to improve their mind to be good, and here you've got something fascinating that they'll be going on about on the playground. They'd be running around pretending they were stealing stuff out of the other kids dreams. Then some little girl would fall off the slide and your book would be pulled. You'll always say that your book is better than Madonna's stupid books and how kids don't want to hear some moral filled crap that no one can read because it doesn't flow. Eventually, in 20 years or so, you'll earn a following through other books and everyone will want to know where it started. And Madonna's books will never be read again.

I think any kid in that age group that couldn't needs to be exposed to it ASAP. Preferably via rezo.

  5. Loved it. Kind of Dr. Seuss meets Edward Gorey. I'd nix the last two pages tho.

  6. Yeah, I've read some of his stuff. I didn't like the alphabet sequences, but I loved the story... "The sopping thursday". I had to look the name up, but yeah, that was great. "I have misplaced my umbrella"

Do you think the story works fine ending on "...That it was morning" though? I can understand why some people have said the last two pages were unnecessary, but it feels incomplete to me without them... or at least I'd need to put something else in their place. But I'm not sure of what right now.

I think it ends well without the last two pages.

It's a much more visual and meaningful ending to know his nightmarish spree has ended with the rising of the sun. Do it. Do it. Perhaps do the morning thing, and then end with this silent panel just to make them think:
