Sixth Sense was a great movie. Everything else has been kind of a let down.
I have no faith that this movie will be good.

Yeah, what Giga said. There's movies far more deserving of scorn than Unbreakable, which was a pretty solid and enjoyable flick.
And this Wolf Creek movie sounds interesting. I might have to check it out. When was it released?

I'm actually really interested in seeing it myself. Never seen anything about it other than here however.

Wolf Creek was released on the 18th I think. It came out here last month or so. You should all watch it. I made a thread for it, but it got no attention

Before The Village he referred to his "three previous" films, which is strange considering he made two films that didn't do so well before The Sixth Sense. Unbreakable is the closest thing to a good film he's made (some good ideas, good scenes, a better child character and less of him, less dependence on the twist), though he spoke with disappointment of it since it didn't make a tonne of money.
The real problem for me with these films is that there's so little substance there. So much time passes with a character tip-toeing very, very slowly down a hallway, then stopping to look to his left as if he's heard something, for what seems like ages, then tip-toeing slowly forwards again, and so on. The Village had one good scene on the door-step at night and that's about all I can remember of it, aside from a few pretty visual images. So many scenes are disposable.

B) It has to do with cuts and editing more than silence. Long hold shots create tension in build up. Good directors know to avoid over cutting their film, or "overshooting" as it were. M. Night is brilliant at this, even if you dislike his mythical concepts and bizarre stories.
You should know this already, since you're producing a movie or something.
This is the biggest complaint I have about his movies. Lose the twist gimmick and get to telling a good movie. It's always hit or miss and he doesn't have a good batting average right now.Originally Posted by MrWhitefolks
