The Ruthless Guide to 80's Action

Someone bumped the "I really love Robocop, Predator, Terminator and Alien" thread and it reminded me of how great action movies in the 80's were. If you're a fan of such movies as well (or just like reading very funny shit), then you REALLY need to check out The Ruthless Guide to 80's Action Movies. I haven't laughed this hard at something online in ages.

The 70's had some good horror movies as well. Perhaps even moreso than the 80's, as that was when slasher movies like Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street got really big and dominated the horror scene. And while those are fun movies, they really can't be considered true horror films. A lot of the stuff from the 70's was way creepier. But of course, the 80's gave us classics like The Thing and Re-Animator as well so it's all good.

The Commando one just reminded me of how kick-ass that movie is. I need to buy it this weekend. The reviewer mentions one of my favorite scenes when Arnold rips a telephone booth out off the ground and hits a cop with it. : <3

One of my other favorite scenes has Arnold like hitching a ride with this black chick that one of the bad guy's is hitting on.He holds the chick up by gunpoint or something and sneeks in the passenger side of her car, and has her follow the guy. Before getting in the car he fucking rips out her passenger side seat with his bare hands and tosses it ,so he can hide easier next to her. Couldnt he have just moved it back a bit?

I just really have to talk about Wilt Chamberlin..The Wilt related part I really have to talk about is this; the evil queen entrusts Wilt to take the royal niece on a journey and MAKE SURE SHE COMES BACK A VIRGIN!!! I mean, talk about the fox guarding the henhouse... Whoever cast Wilt for this role is FUCKING BRILLIANT. Seriously, we all know about Arnold's rep with the ladies, and fucking Wilt had sex with more women than John Holmes and Gene Simmons combined. And this queen is sending her blond, blue-eyed 16 year old daughter off with these two guys and acutally expecting her to come back a virgin??? Holy statutory DP Batman! As funny is the fact that the first we meet the niece she has just woken up from a nightmare and WILT IS IN BED WITH HER!!!

That's a great link. I remember the 80s as being the coming of age of the VCR and all those trashy movies that I was too young to see became easily available to rent. Happy days indeed.
