Thread: Elementary friend passes away

  2. Shit. All I have is this one guy who annoyed the shit out of me. Used to get high all the time but was a pretty good student at the same time. Well, they found him face up in the east river about 2 years ago.

I wasn't at the funeral but word had it that the priest told his parents that their kid was going to hell because he was never baptized. Funny stuff.

Now that I think of it, there was this other annoying guy that died a few months ago too....Hmm, I'll look into it.

I got a call the week before last from a girl I work closely with in Phoenix who I consider a friend. She called to tell me I needed to take over a bunch of her stuff because she just found out she had ovarian cancer and was going to be out for a while. She's only a few years older than me too (I'm 32).

That would explain the time I woke up with blood-encrusted hands.

  7. Never had any close friends die on me. I had a few classmates in high school croak, though.

This one guy got drunk during summer break, climbed a telephone pole, grabbed a high-voltage wire and electrocuted himself. He was dead before he hit the ground. I remember thinking at the time that this was a good thing because he really was a douche.

Another kid, who was my best friend's neighbor, got hit by a car while crossing the street and died after lying in a coma for a few days. That was a shame 'cause he was a really nice, bright guy.

Also, I took a lame Karate class in my Junior year. There was this kid from my school in it who was a black belt who went and hung himself one day. Then, later, this chick in the class just died out of nowhere from some wacky disease. I remember thinking at the time that it was a shame because the girl and her sister were both in the class and the one that died was the hot one.

And it's not the same thing, but a few years ago I ran across a girl I had dated in HS who now has 4 kids and what appears to be an extra hundred pounds on her ass.

My highschool usally had at least one death a year. Once one of the football players went in to get a screwed up joint in his arm fixed and died. He had been taking asprin everyday for quite some time. I think they forgot totell the hospital this ahead of time.

I always hated the way kids acted in Highschool when people died. Many of them were sad, but not for the right reasons. It usally felt like it was less out of sympathy(sp?) for the loss of that person's loved ones and more because that one kid's death forced them to question their own mortality.

  9. Last year this guy in the year above me in my school who was Lithuanian went back to Lithuania for the holidays. I think the guy was pretty rich as his father was some sort of an ambassaddor. Anyway, three weeks after that holiday, when he hadn't been seen since before the holidays, the head of school came and told my year and his year that the guy had been kidnapped and held hostage for two weeks, and then killed.

I don't think that's your typical forcing highschool kids to face their own mortality thing there IP.

  10. A couple of my classmates were carjacked, tied up and put in the trunk, and driven out to the boonies. One was shot to death, the other managed to escape with 2 bullet wounds.

They were both kinda jerks, but no one deserves that.
