I was gonna post this earlier but forgot. I was getting extremely pissed off when I faced my first Masher Thraw and was having a hard time beating it with the normal gun. It was till a later mission that I found out the RB shoots a cannon which made facing the second Thraw much easier.
After about 9 hours of game time, my only real complaint is how retarded and worthless your team becomes at later levels. When there are 3 of you and 10-15 enemies in a single room who constantly use throw and warp, it literally becomes a game of chance in hoping that not every enemy will just blindly charge at you.
I am loving this game, but it is not without its faults. I still think its lame that every planet is just a mess of mountains with no tree or vegetation in sight.
Nope, I only pressed the left bumper to see if there was weapon switching. I'll check that out later and chalk it up to me being a tard.
Also, another fairly minor thing: I wish ME had better sound effects for getting hit. When I started paying attention to everything I noticed more often the shield shimmer and when Shepard says his shields were down, but there's no impact or anything to getting shot. It was throwing me off early on because I'd be focused on killing enemies and had no clue when I was getting shot, but it's not a big deal.
i dunno if its im out of my level range or what, but theres almost absolutely nothing you can do when a group just rushes you (which is what they do a lot). I beat this first part of the assignment the first try but died on the second part. Trying to beat this first part again is proving impossible, and proving the first time was just a fluke.

Most areas with large rooms have a tunnel leading to them. Tell your team to hold position, walk into the room and fire to draw attention, then move back into the hallway and make them come to you. If need be send your team out into the room and then recall them as bait.
Geth can be a pain in the butt but I recommend a shotgun with the ammo enhancement against cybernetics. With that and the above tactic I've handled everything inside regardless of how much tougher they were than me. Just don't rush in and you should be fine.

What Mech said, but also - bring an adept, preferably with Singularity. In my game Liara is fully pumped in Singularity, and wears mostly cool down enhancing mods + amp. When you get rushed, drop a singularity field down and LOL as hard as you can.
I normally bring Tali and Liara along, and have yet to have much problem. The only time I had any real trouble was fighting Benezia (or whatever her name is), but once I figured that encounter out it was cake.
I've been lucky and haven't had any bad glitching. I also love this game lots and lots.
