PLEASE. Carlin was funny, long ago. Anymore, he's pathetic, and is nothing more than a bitter old man who goes on rants that only he thinks are funny. It's sad to watch him anymore, because yes, he did use to be good.

Hasn't Larry done that same thing? And I don't think DYLE was trying to come of as an afficionado at all. He was just making some comparisons to other mainstream comedians.

Oh I absolutely give him credit for paying homage to his fans. The self-righteous I-don't-owe-anything-to-anybody routine holds back a lot of comedians. Cook has a much broader appeal than Larry does.

Yeah, I know it. I didn't even say it was unfair, I just think it's naive not to appreciate that fact. Just as there's a lot of great bands that don't get played on MTV, there's a lot of great comics that don't get exposure on TV as well.

I don't think anybody is ignoring this fact, it just goes without saying because it applies to literally everything. You have to be funny in order to make it, and appeal to people. Comics who want to shove views and shit down peoples throat are fine, but there's no getting around the fact that they're shooting themselves in the foot for larger exposure and are going to have to work harder to earn it.
