OMFG JJ ABRAMS DIRECTING = MUST SEE
I liked 1 and didnt think 2 was as bad as so many people say but this one looks promising . Besides JJ Abrams directing and costarring Simon Pegg it'll b worth seeing for this alone.

OMFG JJ ABRAMS DIRECTING = MUST SEE
looks good.
I'm a big fan of the 1st. 2nd one was a bit too much John Woo for me though.

Anyone go see this yet?
I checked it out tonight. Its good. In fact, its better than good. What a great way to start the summer movie marathon out. I was totally expecting crap. What a pleasent surprise. Forget about MI 2. This pisses on it. Hell, I think this may be better than MI 1.
Go see this. And no bitching about how you hate Tom Cruise. See it for Hoffman, Rhames and Shaun from Shaun of the Dead.
4/5 stars

They used a lot of REAL vehicles and explosions for the action in MI:II, which was great. The stories are pretty forgettable, but overall they're great action movies. For some reason I can't stop seeing Seymour Hoffman as that idiot from Along Came Polly (who sharted in his pants at an art festival) so the illusion of the criminal mastermind is ruined for me.

It was? Just got back from seeing it, and... hmm. It was okay, but that's about it. I actually liked the bridge scene, it came off pretty cool. I've watched a lot of anime, so I'm used to heroes that can get tossed around, but in the context of this movie, Ethan Hunt has to be a cyborg - no other way to explain some of the things he does.Originally Posted by EvilMog

Actually, I'm not watching this on the account of all the retarded publicity stunts promoting it.
"Chuy, you're going to have a magical life. Because no matter where you go, it's always going to be better than Tucson."
I saw this a few nights ago and I was wondering if anyone here was going to talk about it. I really liked it. I was going into the movie expecting Hoffman to steal the show...and while he did a amazing job; I was a little let down with how much he's actually in the movie. I also thought the ending was a little weak.
It's still a pretty great flick. I'd give it a 7/10.
"All creatures will DIE, and all things will be BROKEN: That is the law of the SAMURAI."
I agree. I was surprised by this one.I have no love for Tom Crusie and his retarded personal life, but I'm glad I didnt let that keep me from seeing this. He's still a good actor and it shows.Originally Posted by EvilMog
It also shows that JJ Abrams of Alias/Lost fame collaborated and wrote/directed this too. I can definitely see some similarities with Alias in it.
Only things that I didnt get (maybe I just wasnt paying attention to the dialogue for a second or something)
How did they know this dealer (Devlin or whatever) was going to be in the Vatican? Didnt they say that this guy was invisible and no one could ever find him, then BAM lets go to Italy, he's there? It wasnt on the microchip of the post card because that was de-crypted later,or was it just postcard itself(where it came from)?
That and on the bridge scene that's shown in the previews, I hate seeing Tom Cruise get flung sideways when that explosion hits right behind him. What kind of explosion makes you fly sideways when it happens right behind you?
Besides those two annoyances though, it was a good film.
