Sirius will get shitty reception with a portable anyway because of the moving satellites. I assume that's why they haven't made one yet. Maybe it comes with an antenna that attaches to the top of a hat. Then if you put maybe a 5 foot extender on the top of your head as well it won't drop so much. Good thing i am tall!
Because he didn't really listen to XM's talk programming.Originally Posted by sphere79
Sirius has some ATROCIOUS talk programming. Train wreck-calibur stuff. He will learn. Howard is the only experienced talent they have.
Actually, it kinda does... The antenna is built into those huge headphones.Originally Posted by stormy
It's like the old Roady "portability" kits from like 2 years ago. You literally have to wear a giant antenna on your head like a douche.

Sports talk and comedy on sirius are both really good. I don't listen to the news channels so i cant comment on those but i thought it was pretty widely accepted that Sirius had better talk and xm better music. I got to listen to XM on Jet Blue and thier baseball channel was completely clueless about how the game works. (Although this means they are probably about right for Spodaddy) Just browsing AVS forums a little i was getting the feeling that many people (perhaps even a majority) prefered Sirius' programming. I have only listened to about 3 hours of XM but i was not impressed. They both offer great stuff. Some of you are taking the rivalry a little too far i think.Originally Posted by Frogacuda
Talk and comedy are two different things. And XM has more comedy stations than Sirius, and generally better, though I wish both providers would play more comedy by the album and not the track. That really bugs me.Originally Posted by stormy
The sports stuff I can't comment on, since I don't give a shit, in general.
Sirius does rebroadcast NPR stuff, which I think is nice, although obviously you can still hear that stuff on FM. XM has an "NPResque" channel with former NPR guys, but it's not the same.
It's not that, because I have said myself I think they're both good products. But I got XM for the talk. I listened to both before making my decision, and frankly, Sirius puts a lot of clusterfuck awful talk on, like that stupid fake Mafioso "Wiseguys" show and the abomination that is Tony Hawk's show. They keep hiring celebrities to do talk shows instead of people who know how to do radio. I can get bad has-beens to ramble inanely on FreeFM.They both offer great stuff. Some of you are taking the rivalry a little too far i think.
I mean I can't think of one good program on Sirius in that sort of general talk genre. They have nothing besides Howard, and Howard simply ain't what he used to be.
Oh and I don't think it's "generally accepted" that XM has better music. It's generally accepted that they have deeper playlists and more variety, but not everyone likes that.
Oy! This is the best Sirius can come up with? Giant headphones that won't be available until October. I might have to do this for my portable Sirius fix.Originally Posted by K3V

That is too goddamn funny.
I can put my XM antenna on the opposite side of the room, facing the wall, and toss some laundry on it, and still get a signal. What they fuck is Sirius' problem?

Still would like to know how much RAM is in there though.
