His show is uncensored on On Demand now. 10 bucks a month I think.Originally Posted by Regus

The last few years it's just been nonstop egomaniacal bullshit. He did a complete 180 and went from sucking Bush's cock every day to turning his show into one long John Kerry commercial. He went from praising and defending Clear Channel when they did shit to other people to rallying against them when they fired him, as if that somehow was going too far. Now he's doing the whole cart thing, which never made sense to me. Everyone I know HATES best of, and listens to old stuff they like on mp3. Why should we care that Howard Stern doesn't have as much rerun material to do instead of new shows? Maybe he won't take half the year off on vacation now.
Phil Hendrie is the funniest and most talented guy on the radio and has been for a long time.
I've been looking at satellite radio lately, and Sirius is really lacking. XM has EVERYTHING that isn't Howard Stern and their hardware is leaps and bounds ahead of Sirius in every way. Sirius gave Howard Stern 500 million dollars because they'd be out of business by now otherwise; I think they're just prolonging the inevitable.
Just thought I'd let everyone know - at http://www.streamerp2p.com/ (you need to load a small Windows app) you can stream O/A live and soon Stern. I've been using that along with http://www.mininova.org (who post torrents of O/A shows like 15-30 minutes after their done) to listen to Opie and Anthony for the past week. I used to listen to stern now and then back in the day but I'll take Bax and O'Brien out of Springfield, MA or OandA before I listen to Stern now. The Howard XM ads and him saying how he doesn't even want to be in the same room as "Bubba the Love Sponge" but he now employs him are funny as hell.
I had XM before but it just isn't worth the $13 when I'd rather just play my Archos MP3 player, it is nice for discovering new music I suppose. I was checking out the hardware tonight too, Sirius stuff is sad, really. XM has a few portable options and Sirius has basically an RIAA-restricted MP3 recorder that you can dock at home at listen to time-delayed on the go. And I've had Sirius music channels through Dish and the song selection is much weaker than XM, they tend to repeat alot more. When they get the encryption cracked and I can get a grey-market reciever (maybe even one that can recieve both) maybe I'll listen then. Until then it's streaming and torrents for me!
Hundreds of them (about 250). They were held at bay for a while, but they eventually got to him, and harassed the shit out of him, made him go around the back of the Hard Rock to get in. It was funny.Originally Posted by Rumpy
No way! He came to Dallas after Russ Martin left the Eagle. Does he still have Boy Blunder with him? His show was okay, but nothing we haven't heard before.Originally Posted by Opaque

And yet in those few months they managed to become the #1 show in their time slot in Dallas. They didn't last because of the Sex For Sam thing, not because they weren't destroying the competition.Originally Posted by gamevet
Anyway, O&A are better than they've ever been, hands-down. It took them a few months to get things rolling on XM, but they're really just doing a better show than anyone else right now. I laugh my ass off every single day.
Howard Stern is more just fart and titty jokes and juvenile stuff like that. Opie and Anthony is dark comedy. The show is 90% about humor, and will often make light of dead babies, diseases, decapitated children and all kinds of horrible shit, and manage to be hysterical doing it. It's also really mean spirited, downright viscious at times (got a lot of that Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn feel). No one else does that kind of dark, edgier New York humor on the radio.Originally Posted by gamevet
The best stuff, though, is Anthony and Norton riffing off each other, Anthony's impressions and characters, and the great one-liners. Also they have the best stable of comics out there, and they know how to use comics to make good radio like no other show does. I could care less about the stunts, taped bits, etc. They get people talking but they don't make for the best laughs.
The E! show was a waste of potential. All it ever was was strippers and uniteresting celebrity interviews. Even when Howard's show was good, the E! Show was usually just pixelated titties and some woman who doesn't deserve a voice box jabbering.Originally Posted by Regus

You know there's something to that. When you listen to a radio show every day for months, you get to know the cast of characters, you start to follow the little things in their lives, and pick up on little sub-plots that keep you tuning in. They become like a drive-time family, and it's hard to make the switch.Originally Posted by Master
I mean if O&A were on in the mornings opposite Howard back in the day, I probably wouldn't have ever listened to them. It was because they were on the same channel, but during afternoon drive that I was exposed to both shows, and before long I started to look forward to O&A more and more, and would end up listening at home instead of watching TV or playing games (something howard's show never managed to do). But yeah, it's hard to say goodbye, but a lot of people are going to now that Howie's leaving for greener pastures, and many of them might just check out XM instead.
You're kidding right? Hendrie is just the same boring joke conversations with the same characters and the same stupid people who think the show is real calling in. Oh, and of course his occasional right-wing rant. I'd put Hendrie below even Bob & Tom's neutered dick & fart joke comedy.Originally Posted by SpoDaddy
Fuck all of you people who got remotely good talk radio for as long as you did. All we get down here in "Jesusland" is whatever garbage WOR wants to send us. That means the talking corpse Imus, followed by a local right-wing hack Mark Bernier, O'Reilly, Bortz, Hannity, another local moron, Savage, Hendrie, then finish it off with Coast to Coast where I can listen to George Norry punch another guy who 'teleported into the studio' in the face.
The only other choice is NPR, which aside from Democracy Now! should not be listened to while operating heavy machinery.
I'd kill to get even a sliver of the kind of talk radio you guys get.
Time for a change
