    I'm assuming this is the same Democracy Now! that I hear snippits of occasionally on the Off the Hook MP3's (they are on a Pacifica station) and sometimes catch on some satellite channel in the 9000's? I guess it's OK if you like ugly, hairy lesbians whining on about Tookie being innocent or some shit going on in some 3rd world hellhole. I love independant media, but not when it's slanted FARTHER left than many mainstream outlets. Should be called Socialism Now! I actually listen to many different political viewpoints but I just can't stand it when either side is too entrenched in emotions to consider things from different perspectives.

    But wait! Put down that knife! For just $12.95 a month you, too can enjoy XM Sattelite Radio...

    You're an idiot, here's why;

    1.) Amy Goodman is one of the most respected journalists on the independent journalism scene. She's infinitely better than the rogue's gallery of right-wing talking heads that dominate mainstream media. This is a woman who did REAL investigative journalism and suffered imprisonment, beatings, etc. for it. She has lobbied for nothing more than true, unrestricted, un-bias, reporting in the media and stands by her beliefs (ex; refusing to accept the Overseas Press Club Award, in protest of the group's pledge not to ask questions of keynote speaker Ambassador Richard Holbrooke.)

    2.) This is the same Amy Goodman whose interview with Bill Clinton ended with the former President saying she was "Hostile, combative, and even disrespectful." Hardly in tune with the 'left-wing agenda' is she if she's an enemy of the Clintons?

    So, you can say what you want about the programming; you can say it's slanted left because it doesn't support your worldview, that it's only 'one side of the issue', etc. But don't sit there and talk shit about someone who has a shiny reputation as a journalist and humanitarian and expect not be called out on it.

    Fuck that. Ipod + Car Adaptor FTW.
    Time for a change

    Totally fixed. Listening to things a day late sucks.

    My MP3 player and XM are friends.

    You can't get news, Baseball, O&A, Ron & Fez, or any of the other great stuff on an Ipod.

  7. They do make like, stands where you can listen to in your house right? I might consider that.

    I'll agree that most MSM certainly "tows the party line", but the only one blatantly dominated by the right is Fox. Talk radio is pretty right-wing overall though.

    Good for her. I don't know if she's responsible for the majority of crap that comes out of Democracy Now! and I don't think she's a hairy lesbian but from what I've heard of Democracy Now! it's Socialist garbage.

    Why, because she pissed off Bill by asking a few hard questions when the MSM usually just kissed his ass? Fuck Bill, Fuck Bush - all of them are worthless. There's about 5 politicians (maybe) that aren't pieces of crap.

    No, I say it's slanted left because it's slanted left. And that's fine, really. I can deal with it in small bits but too much of it gets on my nerves. Kind of like Rush.

    Uh, when did I say shit about Amy Goodman? I'm talking about DEMOCRACY NOW.

    How 'bout later in the day? I've been grabbing OandA at noon and listening to it the same day.

    Yes you can. I don't know about R+F but I get OandA and gozen can even get his Democracy Now! if he wants it. I know $13 isn't that much but I rarely listened when I had it (this was back when it was $10 and OandA were extra) and I can't tune it at work anyway. Yes, I know they give you net access so you can stream stations but the IT guy would have a shit fit, it just isn't worth it for me. And as previously posted I can stream channel 202 for free if need be.
