I think having a poll is a better idea. If, say, 25 people wanna be in this club, it'll be two years before some peoples book comes up, and I just had a fortune cookie tell me I won't be around for nearly that long.

But if every month there was a chance your selection could be chosen, you'd be more likely to maintain interest in the club.

And surely there is a better alternative to the name "book club".

Serious note: After hearing the argument for the poll, it sounds more appropriate to me. Nothing worse than having to wait two years to read a book you recommended. Still in the works, though.

If you choose your own book to read each month, it's not really a club activity and then you're better off still posting in the "What sci-fi/child pr0n fetish book are you reading" thread. k thx.
