Thread: TNL Movie Club

  1. You could have the next week's participant give you his choice in advance, in order to cut down the time it takes to get the movie.

    Continuing the franchise 12 years after the last installment, Len Wiseman's Live Free or Die Hard (2007) is a potent action film in its own right. Our protagonist, John McClane (Bruce Willis) has barreled through hostage situations, airline takeovers, puzzle-obsessed terrorists and more over the years, dishing out plenty of pain and one-liners in the process. Live Free or Die Hard doesn't change the formula much, but it's undoubtedly a different beast than its three predecessors. Like 1995's Die Hard With A Vengeance, the landscape remains open for our hero: he's not confined to one building, but we can't help but pine for closer quarters...

  2. that's what I suggested, but it was explained that you didn't have to see the movie when it was chosen, just look at the list of what's been posted, and bump old threads as needed.
    I'd still prefer to know ahead of time to keep discussion timely though.
    However, since I canceled my blockbuster account, I haven't been participating that much lately anyway.

  3. I typically give the next person a heads up on when to go just before the 2 week mark. Sometimes I forget, sometimes it takes a bit for a person to put up a choice, sometimes I don't get a response back.

    Since I'd like to make a change for season 2 we could totally go for the "preview" of the next movie. We'll see how others feel about that.

  6. I think this is a perfect opportunity to take advantage of the review board. If we put all of the movies in there they'll be easy to find, and benefit from all the extra info built in to the review boards system. As it currently stands we have this potentially awesome resource going to waste, which is a real shame.
