Thread: Disney Movies

  1. Disney Movies

    Hrm I just watched Hercules on Disney, and I forgot how fucking awesome that movie was.

    Honestly I think that, followed by Mulan are probably 2 of my favorite Disney movies. I can't really think of a recent Disney movie (Like, solo Disney, not, Disney Pixar, or a combination with any other company) that I have as many fond memories as these two.

    Not to say Disney sucks, maybe I"m just outgrowing it and the new movies don't appeal to me, and then the nostalgia factor increases the entertainment from watching old DIsney movies.

    e = mc^2 OMG equations.

    Just wondering other people's opinions and what your favorite Disney movie is.

  2. #2
    what?

  3. I really love The Lion King myself. Other than that nothing really sticks out to me.

    I love Disney, but I think you have horrendous taste. Early Disney was always my favorite. Snow White, Fantasia, Dumbo, Bambi, and Pinocchio are all incredible movies. They went downhill in the 60s and 70s, though 101 Dalmations and Lady and the Tramp have thier charm, for sure. The 80s was a rough time for animation in general, and I think the Little Mermaid was where Disney really got into a tailspin they never pulled out of. Aladdin was decent, and Lion King was alright, but basically a weaker Bambi. Lilo and Stitch was cute, too, and I actually found Brother Bear a bit underrated, but none of it can compare to the 30s and 40s stuff that was really their golden age.

  5. Mulan is a beautifully animated film.

  6. I like 'em all. Except for Pokeahotass. That one was poor.

  8. ..I liked Emperor's New Groove.

  9. I've always hated Disney films... with the exception of Aladdin. Damn fine cartoon.

  10. What, nobody liked Treasure Planet or the one about cows? (shudder)

    Lion King is a great flick, with great animation, good story, good humor, and great voice acting. I liked Tarzan much more than I expected to. I try to ignore Rosie's character, she is nearly insufferable IMHO, but much of Tarzan is done right. Right from the start, with Tarzan's father and mother braving the ocean, feeling hope, then getting slain by the wildcat, it had me hooked. The vine swinging/sliding was pretty cool. Of course both LK and Tarzan had CG assisted art, which IMO improved things.

    I haven't seen Chicken Little yet. It looks fairly good. But Pixar's stuff is miles ahead of Disney at this point.

    Oh! Is Emperor's New Groove Disney as well? That flick is great!

    Squeak Squeak-ums!
