That's basically my two cents on the matter as well. Of course, management in nearly every retail scene can grow tiresome. But if you're just looking for something to pay the bills, as some expressed earlier - they're are worse jobs.

I really want to hear this story.

  3. I'm currently third key (soon to be second key) at my store, which is also the same store Opaque was third key at. I'm not saying Opaque is wrong about anything, but he was honestly there at the wrong time, with the wrong manager, and I was so happy when he moved out of the store.

Store Managers are dropping left and right in my district though, I believe it's mostly because they're being fired/quitting, or they're moving on to something that pays better because they have or are going to have a family to support, as GS doesn't pay too well, even though I'm one of the highest paid people in my position, but I do a lot of work for my position also.

I've put up with a lot of shit with this company, Opaque can vouch for that. I wouldn't if I wasn't so shitty at finding work.
    All is well.

I would hope there are companies out there where shit like that doesn't happen.
Sorry to break it to you, but there is no Santa Claus. Just about any medium to large scale business is full of shit like this. Mine sure is, and I work for a hospital.

  5. Gamestop just isn't what it used to be. I make a lot more for 3x less the stress working for Sprint. Anyone who still works for them should escape while they can.

  6. Kind of off subject, but I've noticed that EB and GameStop especially are more and more selling premium editions of select games (RE4, Ultimate Spider Man, etc.), which I acutally find kind of cool. Are these special editions unique to EB/GameStop? I don't see them anywhere else, though I'm not exactly in the shopping mecca.

Though I find it odd that within walking distance I have two GameStops and an EB.

I will agree with this too. The stress level of managing a game store is way off the chart for what you get paid. I'd still recomend giving it a shot. I had a lot of fun while it lasted.

I know the Gamecube RE4 SE, was just packaging that Gamestop put together. I don't know about the other packages you speak of?

What kind of hours were you putting in at Abercrombie, my girlfriend just quit her management job there and I wanna see something.

P.S. I still have not gotten over how much Gamestop has made me hate video games. Its been years since I worked there.
Since I didn't care about my job at Funco while you were there, I had a little bit of fun, such as when CvS came out and me and you would just waste fucking hours playing it.

ive heard stories of employess having to stay late to clean up the floor area because theyre not suppsoed to tidy the place up during work. ive been told from my buddy of 1-2am staying times. course theres a lot of abercrombie "rumors", but id love to work with all the girls at the store here. id demand the guys wear shoes (no sandals and no BARE FEET) and just look at the girls all day.
