Thread: Sony launching PSP connect in March

It's a feature built into the firmware; I'd imagine the charges would be per-content.

Not sure why so many people are down on this, I think it's a pretty good feature. I'll just say this: the NFL and NBA are looking at streaming content to cel phones. If I can watch NBA games live - or even as a download immediately after the fact - I'm in.

Book downloads sound intriguing as well, though I'm not sure how easy it'd be on the eyes.

    Let's try applying literacy here!

The CONNECT service will enable you to download hundreds of videos, games and TV shows as well as films and other content.

  4. Didn't think it needed another thread, but in other technological PSP news:

4GB and 8GB Memory Stick Pro Duos coming this year. Niice.
Buy Yakuza and Oblivion. Help yourself, help TNL.

  5. Dang, 8 gig. That is overkill. My new 2 gigger will last me a looooong time.

This new service is interesting I guess. Meh.

Gimme a break. Let's try applying common sense here. You think some rinky dink download that'll probably be no better than your average cellphone game actually give Sony an edge?

I want real games plz, not some bullshit iTunes wannabe.

  7. But no way am I gonna buy MP3s from them. There's this nice little set of steps which supercede any ITunes which I like called "ripping/torrent," then "drag and drop file into "music folder" on memory stick.

I'd love to have that 8GB if I didn't already know that it's going to cost a bajillion dollars. At that storage point, the PSP can actually start to be a serious portable media player.

  9. Well, 1GB and 2GB sticks lauched at $200+, and now you can get a 1 gig for under $70 and a 2 gig for under $140. I'm sure the PS3 using them will lower prices more than anything else has, too.

By the time the PS3 launches, I wouldn't be surprised if a 1 gig stick is the same price as a typical console memory card.

  10. I just got a nice 2 gig last month for $140. Been stuffing it with as much emu, homebrewed games and MST3K as I can find. 8 gig seems a little overkill though for a non-home console. Depends though I guess on how much their "game downloads" take up.
