Thread: Transformers Live Action Movie

  1. Well Genki, some of the fans understand the updates and the VW not allowing its image attached to a violent movie. Other fans are reacting like Cliff. Some of his points are valid, but some understand (again) the need to change and update.

    BTW ... I'm with Cliff.

  2. Thank god I was born past that generation. Watching those cartoons now...How could you love them? That goes for He-Man too.

The movie will do fine. Micheal Bay is good at this stuff and the idea of a transformer franchise is potentially to good for a studio to take risky chances with. The budget will be huge.

if anything it should the script that needs to be scrutinized right now. If they treat the transformers like a big nostalgia trip ala Superman Returns.

Yes it does because the front of the truck is supposed to be Optimus Prime's chest. So if it's that kind of truck, his chest will be protruding underneath the windshield, which would look lame. But who knows, they might change the way he transform.

I'm not really too worried about the Prime, there have been several toys that had radically different alternate modes that still looked like Prime when he was in robot mode, the RID one is a good example.

There have been many, many Primes that have come after the 1984 Prime that have different truck fronts but the same Prime upper body. They use a false truck grill that's hidden in his truck mode and then is revealed in robot mode for his stomach. See G2's Laser Prime or Hero Prime, RID's Scourge, 20th Aniversary Prime, the upcomming Classics Prime, or RID fire truck Prime.

eh, it isn't the first time bumble bee wasn't a VW. I think he was some yellow econo car after the rebirth of optimus episodes. I think they even renamed him "gold bug" or "gold bee."

Goldbug was still a VW bug though, just the robot transformation was a little different than the Bumblebee one. Without movable arms or legs (yeah, it sucked ass.)

They should have made him some kind of shitty hybrid in the movie, that would be so fitting.
