Thread: Prison Break

  1. Prison Break

Prison Break centers on Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) who is on death row for a crime he did not commit. His brother Michael (Wentworth Miller) decides to get incarcerated in order to free his brother and prove his innocence. Michael aligns himself with other prisoners as well as his one and only outside ally, defense attorney and longtime friend Veronica Donovan, to prove Lincoln's innocence.
I'm a few months late on this, but a friend just told me about this last week and I got a few episodes and thought it was quite good.

For anyone who hasn't seen it yet, the storyline does sounds cheesy and lame, but I'm entertained so far, so I'd recommend downloading an episode and trying it out.

Who else has seen this show and what did you think?

  2. I watched every episode of the first season.. starts off good, but then drags on WAY too much.
    Check out my blog: ExHardcoreGamer.com

  3. I'm only up to episode 6 so far, where the doctor might (?) get raped in the riot. I'm enjoying it so far, but I can see that it would be easy for it to drag out.

I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt, but the show is just incredibly, incredibly lame. This is the kind of show that would benefit from being a mini-series. It's way more drawn out than 24 is, and atleast 24 has a lot of suspense and action, but every episode is cliched or borderline idiotic. You can tell when someone pitched this to an executive the show Oz and movie Shawshank Redemption came up and the show isn't in either of their respective leagues. Hell, this show is so far beneath them they're out of its sights.

I was wondering how long it'd take for this show to hurry up with a failed breakout attempt, a prison rape and a riot. Glad to see they arrived right on schedule.

Save yourself the time and watch Oz DVDs instead.

  5. Anyone else watching this show? Last nights episode was rediculous.

  6. If by rediculous you mean ridiculous, then I agree. Way more twists and turns than one episode should have.

First of all the money bullshit. You're telling me no one saw a one-handed man pocket $5 million into a just-as-large bag that was filled with magazines? Bullshit.
Then we have the tie between Super FBI man and the Secret Service. Who isn't in this plan to kill all the people connected to the Lincoln Burrows case? Seems to me like the cat's out of the bag. I wish they would've left him alone or even depower him a little but no such luck. At least they're giving him more depth than just some loon who needs pills to stay in one piece.

The motorcycle stunt is complete and utter shit. I can't believe that flimsy bike just pulled off that huge tree from Sucre's foot.

Then the used car dealer didn't think it was suspicious a white guy hanging out with a Spanish guy in the middle of Whitetown, USA, were buying two different cars in cash? Right.

There's some other bullshit in this episode but I don't want to keep going.

This was really my only problem with the episode. I liked the direction they were taking his character, how he was almost a crooked FBI agent with no involvment in the conspiricy except that he wanted to catch the convicts.

Otherwise I really like where they are going with the Dr's character. The woman getting shot at the phone booth I give two thumbs up

And yes, I meant ridiculous, I can never spell that fucking word right.

Ooh, don't forget the bad editing in that bike scene where the driver is shown from behind and is clearly wearing a stocking hat. Also, the used car dealer just gave him the keys? I never saw money exchanged at all. Also, aren't windows in hospitals locked? How in the world did they get out the window?
