For fans of the show, what's generally considered to be the best season? I'd like to pick one of the DVD sets up, but I don't feel like going through all 4 seasons right now.

Season 2, easily. Though Season 1 is amazing. Season 3 is considering the worst, though it was still amazinh.

Season 1. The gimmicks haven't become gimmicks yet, and you won't be expecting the various plot twists.

By the way, the current season has kicked ass every hour so far. Jack (and Chloe) breaking all known protocols and capping terrorists left and right. Plus, introducing several hateful characters who are going to get a serious comeuppance. I also liked Samwise -- an annoying bureaucract who actually knows what he's doing.

Edit: Rich is correct in that Season 2 is great. But it makes no sense to start there, and to say why would spoil the whole thing.

Agreed that he should start at season 1, but season 2 is definitely the best of the 4. (Though 5 has potential)

1 and 2 are the best...2 might be a little better.... But if you watch 2 first it will spoil many, many cool surprises from 1. Watch 1 first. Without a doubt.

Season 1 was the best, followed by 4 and 3.

Season 2 I think was the worst. Triple blond bimbo attack, who do nothing but whine and ask stupid questions. Too many episodes of interrogating where the bomb was and not enough action. And then the COUGAR. Fail.

But you'll probably want to watch them in order since they do expand on the previous.

I was almost hopeful on the direction they were taking the mole in this season. They've done the angry mole, the mole out for revenge, the opportunist mole, the mole who wasn't really a mole, but when the adviser guy saw the Russians excute the first guy, there it was: the remorseful mole. You could tell he was thinking "WTF have I done?" but then goes and chloroforms psycho first lady.

They seem to be wanting to show the first lady's cleavage as much as possible. Prediction: Secret Service agent extraordinaire, Aaron, is going to save the day -- well, at least an hour.

One of my favorite characters. Has he been here all 5 seasons now? It'll suck when/if he bites the bullet, but it looks like this is the first time in several seasons where he and Mike (another favorite) are in possible danger.

My favorite 24 character is Curtis. That dude is just so badass.

Off-topic... I was just thinking of all of the 24 sets throughout the years...they put together awesome fucking sets. The compound in season 1? badass.

Yeah I think in Season 2..? The one where the woman fell down the stairwell. But all's forgiven.

The Season 1 compound, and the Mexican cartel campsite with the helicopter raid in Season 3 were the best sets. I dig airport sets so I was hoping they were going to do more with it this season.
