    I ordered from NCSX.

  2. Got mine from Fry's. I know some people on GAF got theirs from EB or Gamestop.

  3. I got mine at EB.

  4. I got mine at the local indpendent I always go to 19.99 CDN, so it should be around for less than that in USD.

Fantastic presentation - Ashley Wood = fuckawesome x 1000. The way they did the fight scenes is freaking amazing, especially when Snake takes on multiple soldiers - I wish I had a way to rip animated .gifs of this.

The story on the other hand, is MGS1 pretty much word for word, right down to "Otacon stand for Otaku convention." The amazing art carries it, and the fact that it's presented in sketchy comic art rather than as TACTICAL ESPIONAGE makes it seem a bit less silly, but, y'know, silk purses and sows ears - it's still the same material, although better presented.

I won't lie, I bought it mainly because I want to support this format because I think if it's not the future of comics, it bloody well oughtta be - it's incredible.

The soundtrack is all original, but largely indistinguishable from standard MGS fare. No seperate soundtracks from the games offered that I can see, though. The memory scavenger hunt offers a mild distraction if you're looking for something else to do, but not much more.

Anyway, worth buying, I hope they do more. I'm glad that at the very least, they're doing cinemas in the same style for Metal Gear Portable Ops.

It's even better, imo - 2 graphic novels, 20 track soundtrack, interviews, and on the main GN the story and art are gobsmackingly amazing. Unlike the MGS one none of the story material comes from the games, and it's written at a very adult level. Absolutely worth getting.

I'm glad to hear it since I couldn't wait to get an answer and ordered it right after I posted the question.

    Not really.

The article was about a meeting Kojima and Miller had when the Sin City film was released in Japan. The two ended up talking about comic books, in which during that point Kojima revealed the existence of MGS: DGN.

Other than that, Miller was never involved in the actual production of the game. IGN are just idiots.

  7. Ah. Well.

Damn, poking around IDW's website... Ashley Wood does like half their books. That is one prolific muhfuggah.
