Thread: Nickelodeon Studios.. RIP.

  1. Rocko was more adult humor. I remember how Heffer fell in love with the milker and the "CHUNKY CHICKEN IS MADE OF PEOPLE!" thing. That was funny stuff that i couldn't appreciate as a kid.

The trash was either marketing or filler between the marketing, but there were and still are a few kids shows that maybe have a little love from the creators. If you wanna feel like a man, you can watch American Idol or Wheel of Fortune or whatever you old people watch these days.
    Donk

    Except for Quickdraw Mcgraw, right?

    KABONG!

I don't want to look it up.

I think the kids now have it better than we did... based on when I've watched cartoons with my little sister.

  3. Dude, Family Matters was always pretty bad (except for Urkelbot). Who the fuck liked Full House in the first place? I'm ashamed to have ever watched it. I hated Saved by the Bell from the time it was the real shit that i had to sit through to watch Super Mario Bros. 3. You can go back to watching Disney's Doug, BECAUSE YOU'RE WRONG.

Hanna Barbera crap was always crap. There was some good stuff, but i'm sure that it was all accidental.
    Donk

  4. Go watch TMNT, the first 3 seasons are on dvd. As far as I can tell the show has aged well and does not suck. Unlike Thundercats, which can suck my balls.

Verified. But you know everyone watched it anyway.

I never liked that furry shit.

  6. I got my girlfriend Saved by the Bell on dvd when it came out, we tried to watch one episode then we returned it.

    WTF.

  7. Too bad. Saved by the Bell is timeless.

I'm curious to know what Nick did with that big book they made everyone sign at the end of the tour?
"Chuy, you're going to have a magical life. Because no matter where you go, it's always going to be better than Tucson."

    Holla

    V! I! C-K-Y!
The sound of her name makes the little kids cry
    OHHHHHHHH!

    Hey Vicky!
    You're so so icky
Just the thought of bein' round you
    Makes me oh, so sicky

    Hey Vicky
    Won't you please explain
How you get so much enjoyment
    Outta causing kids pain?

A chick who's just plain mean
    A sour sweet sixteen
    She a fire-breathing dragon
In a pair of black jeans!

    Oh! Oh! Oh!

    Hey Vicky
    Would you tell us true
How we ever got the bad luck
    To be stuck with you?

    Oh, Vicky
    Can we say one thing?
    It's your super total yuckiness
    That makes us wanna sing

    Icky Vicky!
    Ew! Ew!
    Icky Vicky!
    Ew! Ew!
    Icky Vicky!

  9. ... wow

  10. tl;dr version: I loved nick, but, I really hate TV as it's going right now. I watch like 4 hours of TV a week, and that's with a Digital Video Recorder.

Old school Nick was the shit, hands down, and I'm glad I had it as a kid. I know people my age who have no idea what Clarissa Explains it All, or Get the Picture, GUTS, Pete & Pete, and etc. are, it's sad.

Remember when Fox used to have a couple hours of cartoons every morning? Now all they have in my area is this shit called Trollz, which is based off troll dolls.

Fuck man, we grew up on Power Rangers, Big Bad Bettleborgs, VR Troopers, Transformers, Voltron, Animaniacs, Freakazoid, Spider-Man, Pinky & The Brain, Simpsons(when it was still good), and so many other great quality shows that now, the true crap that is out there seems even WORSE. I don't know how Trollz can get worse, but I'm sure it can. Seriously, the weekly Toonami has been reduced to a 3-4 hour block on Saturday night, and it's timeslot replaced by a YuGiOh spinoff, Code Lyoko, Codename KIDS NEXT DOOR, and Ed, Edd, and Eddy.

This isn't just a problem with nick, this is a problem with every major network airing animation. Futurama and Family Guy are the current two best examples of this, they got canned, and got better ratings than ever, one was brought back, and the other is having talks about being brought back. Hell, King of the Hill hasn't been offically cancelled, but they aren't making new episodes right now(they start again real soon though). There really is no middle ground for TV anymore, you have shitty cartoons, overplayed Teen Drama, and adult shows. Where are my quality american cartoons that I love and grew up with? Where are the quirky gameshows that were so corny sometimes they were fucking awesome?
