  2. As long as this administration has more common sense than Eisner's (and courting Pixar instead of driving them away speaks that they do), it's a good continuation of a proven formula. Plus, Lasseter being involved in overseeing the Disney stuff outside of Pixar could signifigantly up the main studio's quality... As long as he's not spread too thin, of course.

  3. I would rather have Job control Disney. Thinkning about this for a second. Wow, wouldn't it be cool?
I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.

  4. I just don't like this not one bit

my gut tells me this is a bad descion in the long run

    *shakes head*

to me it's like EA buying up a really good idependant developer you just knwo things wont be the same no matter how much they say they will be
    Where I play

  5. I'd still prefer Pixar spreading its wings and creating it's own legacy aside from Disney, but I don't consider this a bad thing.

  6. Disney will put wind in their sails. End of Story, you guys need to stop seeing Disney as a Microsoft.

It's kind of hard when, you know, they are.

I think that now that the upper management at Disney is different, I feel less worried about this than I did before. Still, I don't like the idea. The EA thing was a perfect example - how big company snatches up smaller, really talented company, things go great for a while, and then later big companies breaks it up and tosses away the rest.

If I was running Pixar, the only way I'd go into a full-out purchase would be via a contract with a hell of a list of clauses. If Pixar can go into this and stay an independant entry like other aspects of Disney (ABC, ESPN, etc.), then maybe it'll work. I just hate to see a great company like Pixar putting themselves into a situation to get royally fucked over later.

  8. As long as Eisner is gone, then I am OK with this (since they would never have strayed if it weren't for his idiotic, self destructive arrogance). It would just be weird seeing Pixar making movies for another studio (like Dreamworks, hrm) Too bad they can't just go completely independent.

As long as Incredibles 2 rocks ass, I'm good.

(I'm usually not up for sequels but these are super-heroes we're talking about here)

Yeah, well, Superman IV begs to differ.
Not saying Incredibles isn't awesome, but superhero sequels rarely are.
