I'll get this just for 2.
Wait, did you only have the first generation US Saturn pads then? Because, I mean, the real stock Saturn pad was like the best 2D fighting pad ever, and I've never met anybody who didn't think so.Originally Posted by Mzo

I still don't get why we haven't seen 6 face buttons again on a standard controller.Originally Posted by shidoshi

It was even more infuriating given how much wasted space was on the pad.

I guess our big American hands just aren't knimble enough for 6 face buttons.
Truth. I just wish they had adaptors so I could still use them for everything; its not like they wear out easy or anything.Originally Posted by shidoshi
I know a lot of people that really don't mind the standard Dual Shock for fighters, but I can't stand it. Standard 360 pad seems like it might be decent, d-pad wise anyway (still only 4 face buttons) but I'll need some new shit to test that theory with. Still kinda have my eye on that DOA Hori stick too...Originally Posted by magnifiedplaid

I just don't like any pad when it comes to a fighting game, especially when playing Zangief. I want to use more than one finger when pressing the punch and kick buttons, so I can quickly and easily press three at once or one punch and two kicks to activate a CC, or whatever. One button for level 1, 2 buttons for level 2, and three buttons for level 3 supers. I can use my pointer, middle, and ring fingers in a very easy and deliberate motion. Akuma's Raging Demon is pointer, pointer, thumb, ring finger. I can't adjust to a pad. I've tried, and I suck at it.
I'm sure with practice I can adjust my playstyle to something that will be worthless in the arcades (which are, admittedly, dead) but I don't want to. Just because that kid with no arms in NP learned to play with his feet doesn't mean I want to, too.
