Thread: Street Fighter Alpha Anthology Announced for PS2

  1. Dumbed-down Street Fighter.. the series that killed Street Fighter's popularity in the East (which probably led Capcom's fighting game production team to disband). I'll pass on this one.

Did Vampire: Darkstalkers Collection ever come out here, or is it import-only?

Fuck, one day I want to be as 1337 as this kid.

  4. I'd be cumming in my pants right this second if I didn't already own all these games (yes, even Pocket Fighter). Still, having them all in one package…hmm. I guess it all comes down to price. $29.99 and I'm probably there. $19.99 would be better still, but less likely to happen.

SFA2 Gold is an odd inclusion. It was originally released on the PS1 (no arcade release that I was aware of), and all it did was replace the PS1's SFA2 FMV intro with an in-game intro, and make Cammy playable in vs. mode. Don't see the point unless it improves over SFA2 in other ways I don't remember.

It would be sweet if they included Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo as well. Well, I can wish.

That would be the greatest collection ever, no doubt. Still, have you played the original SF lately? It's shitty to the point of being almost unplayable. Ugh.

There are OG versions of most (all?) characters. Evil Ryu in all versions. Better game balance. Easier to activate customs. Alpha counters use 1.5 meters. In all, one of the most balanced and enjoyable fighting games ever. My personal #1 favorite videogame of all time.

Just release a version that plays better. SF One Upper or some crap.

You're too hardcore for your own good, stop whining.

  7. "SF Alpha 2 Gold" is just the way they're calling now CPS-II SF Zero 2 Alpha, which never were the same thing.

Did the PSP get that yet? I'm holding out to see if it plays closer to SFA2.

Was V: DC ever released for the United States? It doesn't seem so, but from I can tell, it's already available in Japan...?

  10. Alpha 1 had chain combos, I just remembered. And it had some awesome little storylines in it, with different last guys for characters, that was the shit. I wish they had stuck to that instead of omg bison in Alpha 2 and 3.
I thought Alpha 2 was the one that had different bosses for all the characters?
