  2. I finally got around to not only opening the box, but actually PLAYING the game. I've spent a little time with MGS 3 and it's my favorite MGS game to date. I love the Raiden mask, but I'd rather have the extra camos and stuff unlocked. I'll put some pics up of the camos and facepaints, including some Raiden shots, once I've spent some time online. The disc 2 opening is hilarious, and I love the animated title screens. It also appears that saving an "I like MGS 3!" file gives you the demo and secret theaters on disc 2.

  4. Yeah, I picked "I like MGS1!" and I see no benefit to that whatsoever.

  5. I was hoping that would let you play the game in that sweet secret tux. Here are those photos I mentioned earlier. Here are the main pics I took, including one of the pre-text title screens, which make for perfect avatars when resized (as do the disc 2 anagrams).

  6. Wow, PS2 actually has an online game worth playing now.

  7. Yes it does. It feels good to actually get some use out of the network adapter I've had for six months. Since Konami had a brainfart and didn't include proper documentation for the MSX games, here are the tap codes for them, courtesy of the GameFAQs board -

The first tap code in the game after you follow the Green Beret is
    140.82

    Campbell changes his frequency to
    140.66

    Campbell changes it to
    140.24

    In MG1, Schneider's frequency is
    120.79

  8. Playing MGS3 for the first time right now, and got through the first mission last night. Dear god, I'd forgotten how badly Kojima needs a story editor. I know he lets you actually play something now and then, and it's very well done when it happens, but dear god do these people ever shut up!?

You shut up. Shut your whorish mouth.

  10. The first mission is basically just a way to set up the plot. Most of the game isn't THAT cutscene-heavy.

And on subsequent playthroughs you can just skip all the cutscenes anyway. That's what I do.
