You would not be saying that if he was still pitching in the AL. Sure you could say Boston could use Arroyo now... but it is not like they don't need the extra outfielder either. Hurr.

You are also fading Pena's ability pretty hard. He is raw (he's only 24!), but his power is absurd -- everything he makes contact with comes flying off the bat. If Tito would ever bat Pena 5th you would have a power threat of absurd proportions between Ortiz, Manny, and Pena.

  3. Wily Mo Pena has crazy power, no question. That's all he has though; that's why he's a 4th outfielder. He's Shane Spencer. To trade a good relatively young starting pitcher for a 4th outfielder is crazy; Theo made the deal for personal reasons, it was a bad baseball move.

Isn't looking like it so far. You have anything to say? Any witty remarks on how it doesn't matter and the Mets arn't playing their hardest and the Phils are the worst team in the MLB this year? You made a big deal when the Indians beat up on the Yanks despite the fact the Yanks returned the favor the next day and now it's looking like the Mets are getting walked on for the second day in a row, so what's the deal? Do they feel sorry for the Phillies, are they just toying with them so they can whip them the next two days or did they all catch some disease that's causing them to play poorly? Let's here the excuses for the two games Yoshi, we'd all love to hear them.

BTW Burg, Raystorm, etc. this isn't for you guys.

  5. I know it's been said many times, but wow @ Tigers. This was the team with young guys who were supposed to fade in the second half, and they walk into Fenway and win tight pitching duels. AL playoffs are going to be intense this year, especially if the White Sox get their pitching back to where it should be.

  6. The Mets are losing on purpose so Wagner's well rested for the playoffs Gohron, isn't that obvious?

  7. Mets are playing like shit. El Duque was horrible (he is either awesome or terrible) and the defense has been atrocious. Milledge is playing like garbage, Delgado hasn't had a big hit since June, Woodward shouldn't be in the outfield (wtf Willie?? use Tucker, Endy..not Woody!), Lo Duca is having fun with 19 year olds (you go boy!) and Reyes is supplying the power at Philly. fun times.

That just goes to show you that a strong manager is worth the money. You put Eric Wedge on the manager's slot on that team and they wouldn't be in the race right now.

First thing Leyland did with the pitching staff was told them all to lose a pitch. Throwing 5 different pitches is valuable if you're Greg Maddux, but accuracy and velocity is the key, and focusing on a smaller pitch repetoire is the way to go.

  9. I have to admit, I always thought Leyland was overrated, but this year I'm coming around.
