Whores aren't the only criminals you murder in GTA, but I don't here gangstas and drug dealers complaining.

Got me there, but I would still say that GTA tries to remain morally objective. I mean, if the game's intention was to steer you into being as morally reprehensible as possible, why would it let you do rather mundane things like drive a cab or a semi-truck, and even things considered by many to be heroic such as firefighting or EMS?

At no point, that I can think of, does the game force your hand into making the morally bankrupt decision. Certainly, by taking on the attitudes of the characters portrayed you get a lot more out of the game following its mission tree, but no where are you forced to do so.

Oh come on. If you want to advance the story at all, you need to do many immoral things. Period. The game is designed around letting you live the life of a criminal, and this is one of the main selling points. It's fucking CALLED Grand Theft Auto. This isn't Morrowind or KOTOR where you can beat the game in a "moral" way. You can certainly avoid doing immoral things in GTA, but "walking around for a while" isn't much of a game. And to do those "moral" missions you mentioned, you first have to steal the appropriate vehicles.

It cracks me up that a certain brand of criminals is objecting to GTA. You're not supposed to play the hero in this series. When you block off a street using an 18-wheeler or school bus and then get out to blow up a handful of cars with the machinegun in GTA, that rocks. Your wanted meter will jump, so you'll need to be ready to hit the respray shop to shake the cops. That should clearly tell people the game is meant as fantasy.

It's a safe bet that prostitutes have been beaten down long before the original GTA even existed. Playing GTA without making your character commit crimes is like playing Mars Matrix without hitting the fire button.

The whores in GTA are criminals, since AFAIK, prostitution is illegal in the games fictional cities.
