Thread: Dead Rising

  1. Thanks for the list. I'll start it, or even finish it tomorrow. I need to break away from the game today and play something else the rest of the night.

  2. Thanks for the PP sticker list. So do you not have to take a picture of the drama moments (like when the first two survivors on the roof have their reunion, or when the gun store owner takes a drink of wine) to get the achievement? I figured you'd have to get all of those spontaneous moments, which would make it a massive pain.

Anyway, yeah, I'm starting to get to the point you both are where I'm probably going to take a break from the game for a while. I'm about 1-200 points worth of achievements behind you guys, so there are still quite a few fun things to go for, but I really don't think I'm going to go for the 7 day thing. Not only is it a huge undertaking, but leaving the 360 on for 14 hours (or realistically a lot more than that, because there's no way I could actually play it that long straight) just doesn't sound like a good idea.

Last night I got screwed by the game similarly to what happened to you Brett. I accidentally fell into the little area where the space rocket zooms by in Wonderland Plaza. It hit me as I was jumping out, and it is timed perfectly to come around and hit you again exactly as you get up. I wound up sitting there for like two minutes watching Frank fly up in the air, get up, fly up in the air again, rinse and repeat until game over. Ugh. Luckily it wasn't infinite mode, and I only lost about two hours in-game, but still, annoying.

Also, the real Mega Buster makes this game so, so much easier. I don't want to abuse it, but for the psychopath achievements it lets me focus more on the time and getting photographs of them than the survival. Real Mega Buster + 11 wines = lol.
Buy Yakuza and Oblivion. Help yourself, help TNL.

  3. I heard it takes like 8 shots to kill bosses, which doesn't sound any quicker than the Mini-Chainsaws once they become availble. Still, it would help with the fight against Adam and the guy in the Gun Store.

Too bad it won't unlock for me, even when I finished another 72 hour game.

  4. Bah, that sucks man. I would be pissed if I went through all that work for Genocider and it didn't unlock.

As for it's power, I dunno, first fight with Carlito took one shot (though he's super weak), gun store owner took about 3-4, and the convicts only took one each. Adam did take an uzi and about 5 shots, but I think that's because he blocked some of them. But what makes it so awesome? 300 shots. And it respawns, if you ever need another.

  5. Sounds neat, but it doesnt sound worth the effort to get it, especially when I can get three books to extend the life of the minis to the point they never break.

  6. True, but with the mega buster you never have to get close enough to USE said chainsaws(thus keeping you from harms way in infinity mode). chainsaw = best all around zombie rape for upclose, megabuster = safely surviving infinity mode w/out issue.

also, the fact that i can do the disembowel/hammer throw/giant swing/etc on the spec-ops is the biggest bag of win ever(especially if you hammer throw them and then open fire with the machinegun into their backside).

    Discussion over, lol.

  7. That is neat.

Side note: The Prisoner garb+ Hockey Mask outfit has inspired me to start that new runthrough where I go for perfect. I'll probably only do the first case or so today.

  8. I seriously didn't think it was going to work, but since he was parked throwing bombs at me, I figured I'd give it a shot(the smg wasn't doing shit for damage) and he literally SPAZZED when I hit him(first hit did like 40%) and started spamming the gas and trying to rock the vehicle, but instead he hit the wall which set him up for the last two hits.

How'd you attack him? I assume it was through the driver's door...?
    "Fiends! Animals! Bastards!"

  10. yessir, the hedgeclippers have some range on 'em, and frank leans forward fairly far while using them(unlike the chainsaw, where he just swings at arm's length, the hedgeclippers get an extra 2feet or so plus he leans in)
