Thread: Dead Rising

  1. I finished my second run and was thinking of doing the Overtime mode. Do you start without any of the weapons/items that you finished with in the 72-hour mode? Seems like it, and that sucks.

Edit: And WTF? Mini-chainsaws are gone, too? So far, I hate this.

DR is reviewed in the newest Game Informer (September). They gave it a 9.25 and a 9.

Best advice one can give, I suppose. I did suck it up and managed to get through the first couple of fetch quests -- it's just a different feel than the 72-hour game.

    GI has good taste.

  5. I agree.

GI is pretty much the last trustable magazine imo.

  6. gametrailers.com is the best place to get reviews, period.

  7. Edge magazine is the only trust worthy game magazine imo. Plus they have outstanding articles. But of course they review games on their fucked up british schedule, so sometimes they don't have the reviews you'd want.

If you want to make overtime mode easier for yourself, grab the chainsaws(if you killed Adam in the 72hour mode) and then the appropriate books. Then make sure you have the maintenance key and get from place to place strictly by underground travel. No spec-ops spawn there, and you can snag everything fairly quick and easy that way.

Granted, it helps being leveled up(when I first did overtime I was level 33, the second time I did it I was max), as you do WAY more damage physically with melee weapons(at max level I one-shot the Spec-Ops with my mini-chainsaws).

If you play overtime mode with the same save as 72 hour mode (meaning you just keep playing after 72 hour mode ends) you keep your inventory. I already have the chainsaws and all the good books and such.

BTW, Chainsaw = one hit kill on spec ops. It's great.

See, that was the problem. I got called away just after beating 72-hour mode, so I just let it save and then even played the next cut scene. When I went back to the game, however, all of my inventory was gone, and now there are no mini-chainsaws on the map. I obviously switched it off at a bad time, so now I'm tempted to go back through the 72-hour mode just so I can go into Overtime properly equipped. Annoying. By the way, where is the bicycle?
