(Couldn't find the official thread -- if any for this game...)

I know it's a far cry from Burnout Revenge -- but did anyone bother picking this game up? Just curious who here has played it and your general impressions.

Personally, I think it's quite a decent game. Graphics are solid, although there are ocassions where it suffers from framerate issues. For those that care, achievements are super easy to get (you can get a dozen within an hour or less). At times, the AI is a joke -- especially in the more advanced, "Master" modes, which I defeated within 10 mins. There are also a few bugs in the game ala DOA4 which don't correctly log achievements or random freezing. Worth $60? Definitely not, but anyone that's starved for a new racer and/or can pick it up used should look into it.

You found no thread because we just talked about this in other threads. The average opinion seems to be that most don't like it, or think it's "ok at best." Personally, I wanted areana battles, which seems to be included in the upcoming PS3 version. I'll either wait for that, or wait for a price drop on this one.

Yeah -- hit or miss is the best way to sum up this game. Some are calling it a sleeper hit. I wish it offered more cars (something which Burnout offered in abundance). Didn't know it was also coming to PS3 -- perhaps that version will be a lot better.

I played the demo a few times, and it was nothing fancy. The only fun part was destroying the environments -- fuck the racing.

I am about to get rid of the game. I've got a 90% completion rate and just need to get the rest of the online rank achievements. Then it's off to EB next week as trade-in credit for Burnout on 360

You're almost never going to find me online, unless it's DOA4 (or the upcoming Burnout). Looking to get that all out of the way - then I am just going to sprint through the last of the online achievements in the next day or so. I am very eager to get rid of this game and get back to the other titles in my 360 collection.
