Thread: Show Us Your Pets

On the bright side you'll be right about the dog, which you should be able to use as leverage in the future.

  2. True. Everytime I argue her down she just fucking cries and makes me feel like Chux.

Her rationale is that the dog will make us go out and be more active, because we'll have to for the dog. That'll make her happy because she's always had a pet and doesn't have one because both her dog and cat died in the last year. The more that I argue with her, the more determined to get a dog she becomes.

She used to want a cat. Why doesn't she want a cat anymore?

Because cats are shit. That dog is awesome btw, but it is totally going to ruin your shit.

  4. Since it's a foster to adopt system, I'm just going to agree to foster the dog and see how it goes (terribly).

The problem with that is that I'm such a sucker for fucking dogs is that even if it's a total disaster (like it will be), I'm not going to want to give up Captain Floppy Ears and her bluegrass howl.

  5. Exactly, no way you are giving up a dog once you adopt, unless you are a cold hearted mofo like Ramon.

    lol.

    no.

But that dog is fucking adorable. Get a bigger apt.

If you really do exercise the fuck out of the dog it might not be so bad...but a studio is so small.

Jackson's a full on dog now. He wasn't really bad in his puppy phase. He never chewed furniture or anything, or shoes, or wires, or anything really expensive to replace, but he did take over the family room area. That is his room. If you leave something like a belt or a sock in there, it becomes his, no questions asked.

Now he's gotten into the rhythm of life here wonderfully. He goes for like an hour and a half to two hour walk in the morning where he runs all over the fuckin' place because we talked the golf course into using him as goose control. He swims and runs and chases fuckin geese, or one of us takes him to the mountain, dog run, or one of the parks around. Then he pretty much chills out all day until around 5, though he goes out once or twice to bathroom in the interim, and then he gets playful. He gets another hour-2 hour walk around 6 or 7, and sometimes another one later on. He gets so much exercise this way though that he's totally chill most of the time. That and he's a pretty chill motherfucker in general.

So, I mean, your dog would never get that much exercise I bet. First, even on a walk he wouldn't be able to run and shit like he does out here, and second you really wouldn't have the room to play with him indoors. So yeah, bad idea, unless you can really get him out for 2-4 hours a day imo.

There are no rules, only consequences.

  7. I had a "discussion" about this earlier. She cried, I'm a monster, and we're getting a dog anyway.

    So.

    We'll see how this goes.

  8. I found this picture in the cheap-o digital camera my sister was given for christmas two years ago, A picture of my baby Princess (who is going to get put down soon), and our newer dog Mario (who is a baby in the picture) once they started getting along.
