Thread: Amazon trying to attract me with soft porn!

  1. Amazon trying to attract me with soft porn!

The last time I visited Amazon the 'featured item' (down the left side of the page) was this:
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/303...Fencoding=UTF8
Grabs your attention, right? I thought it might just have been coincidence that the 'featured item' had that cover.

Then I visited again today. The featured item was this:
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...619361-0872762

Neither of those items had any remote connection to the Amazon searches and (rare) purchases I made there before. I just think it's a surprisingly coercive and brazen tactic from one of the Internet's biggest stores.

  2. This happened to me at school.

I wasn't even logged onto my account, and was just looking round, and suddenly I notice the suggestions on the side and they were all books about nudists and shit.
Not just the latest PS2 game, or novel or whatever.

They ought to change that as it makes you look really dodgy if people see that as they're walking by.

  3. stop fronting. you know that's exactly what you were looking for.

    perverts.

  4. I went to Amazon just to see if the same thing would happen, and this was one of three featured items (all three softcore I might add)

  5. Haha, oh wow.

Some of these even have pictures from inside the books...
