Maybe we should vote every month on a "TNL Game of the Month". It doesn't even have to be the "best" game every month, just the one we devote the most discussion time to.

Was there any great debate about Call of Cthulhu? I know I pimped the fuck out of it and maybe three of you bought it, but I don't remember any real arguments.

There were a few months in there where I chose a lesser hyped game I liked over a massively overhyped one. Notice that Gran Turismo, Final Fantasy, Madden, etc. are nowhere to be found.

What month was Beyond Good & Evil released in 2003?

December. I must have glazed right over it, because I never had the mental FFII vs BG&E debate.

That had a lot of discussion and it's one of the best games of the generation. Shenmue II had some arguing but I guess that was more about the DC version which this thread isn't including I guess.

I used GameSpot's release calendar by console, and their DC section is MIA.

I am a huge fan of both games, so I didn't want to pick. If I had a gun to my head, GTA3 would have won, but with stuff like Cookie & Cream and Mark of Kri getting on there due to weak months, I just couldn't leave DMC off.

It took me over two hours just to decide which game deserved to be shown for each month and to get them all pasted in. The only tie I couldn't break was DMC vs. GTA3. They both got to be shown.

In that spirit, here are the console games that have kept us discussing, bitching, and getting suspended for the last five years.

Does this just mean, literally, discussing the game in its thread or what have you? So in this train of thought the game could own the month without even having been released yet?
