Thread: Posters you had growing up

  1. I mostly had random video game posters on my wall, the ones I remember the most are:

It was just the logo and the trees/sunset, with the words sega at the bottom. I always loved this poster.

Then there was the pop up Desert Strike poster that came out of EGM, that was pretty cool.

  2. I eventulally had tons of Genesis game posters on the wall, my favorite was Golden Axe 2.

  3. I had a Sonic 2 poster up for a while. For a while almost every Genny game came with a poster. Sega used to be so cool
"Chuy, you're going to have a magical life. Because no matter where you go, it's always going to be better than Tucson."

I had a bunch of He-man posters that I never actually hung up. I used to get the magazine in the mail (or rather, my aunt would get them for me) and I used to BEAM when they'd arrive.

As for the Batman poster, I got that with the official Batman Movie Book (which I still have to this day).

EDIT: Thanks for this thread - it unlocked quite a few good memories.....

  6. I never liked posters so I think I've only had one up that I remember. It was a Spawn poster and I only put it up because it was a gift.

I think it was this one:

One entire wall was decorated in with clippings from skateboard magazines. I also had a Transformers the Movie poster... still do now that I think about it.

The other wall was littered with pictures and articles about bands.

  8. That Cindy Crawford poster is so classic.

I too had a Lamorghini Countach poster and a wall clock to boot. Had a bunch of Niki Taylor Magazine cuts all over my wall. A lot of Packers posters (I live <30 mins from Green Bay). Oh and not to quote Everclear, but I had a Star Wars poster on my bedroom door (Empire to be more specific).

I think most of the posters from my childhood are still on my walls back home. The only one's that are not still up were those late 80's early 90's swimsuit posters. I had two of those.

My old room is covered in posters and road signs. I have a stop sign on my door, a no laying pipe sign on my bed and a yield sign I painted neon yellow. I have two of the original huge lunar posters, an oriental play poster I got from my 5th or 6th grade teacher, a Marline Monroe poster, the one from the B.O.B game, shit from the original sonic comic, various sailor moon posters, a tenchi poster, pinky and the brain, and one huge Super Metroid poster.

All of this is mixed in with old 80’s toys (gundam, transformers, robotech, marcoss, etc etc), old tube electronics, an antique tube stereo, three shelves of books, things made of lego, a 5 foot tall construx Johnny Five and lots of metal military furniture. Oh and enough ammo to kill a 100 zombies.

Come to think of it, my room is a museum for nerddom of the past 70 years.
