Definitely start with The Longest Journey. As has been said more than once in this thread, it's an incredible game, and should not be missed under any circumstances -- graphic adventure fan or not. As much as I enjoyed Dreamfall, I loved the first game ten times more. I would prescribe Dreamfall six months to a year after finishing TLJ.![]()

I started playing TLJ over summer but found that I just wasn't in the mood for an adventure game. It might be time to give it another shot, this month.
It seems that the episodic format is the new delivery method for adventure games. Dreamfall is being continued in the form of "Dreamfall Chapters": http://www.funcom.com/wsp/funcom/fro...TENT&item=1004
I approve of this. Just no more fighting.
As long as they don't pull a Valve, this is fine by me.
Hopefully they pull a Telltale and give us really frequent releases.
I was wary of episodic gaming even before Valve and Ritual fucked it up. If Funcom can pull it off properly, I won't complain but I don't think they're going to be able to do Telltale-type frequency. Sam & Max reuses the main neighbourhood while going off to a few new places each time. I can't imagine the Longest Journey series working the same way given the type of story.
Or at least regular. Every 6 months is ok, as long as really is every 6 months right on time. Like Zeed said, to do the monthly thing you need to reuse assets and go for pretty short episode length, so it might not work here. But as long as they can keep a schedule, I think the episodic model still has promise.
Well, I'm glad they're continuing the story. I'm not too big on the episodic thing though.
