People's parents are doing a horrible job of teaching their kids how to function in soceity.

Because they cant function in society.

If a parent is living paycheck to paycheck, consumed by debt and materialism, what values are they passing onto their children?

Im amazed I know anything about money, both of my parents are pretty bad with it. But I studied it in college and work in finance so...

I really think a mandatory class would help a lot.

Every year of highschool kids need to have classes teaching them about the real world. Stuff like how to get a job, paying taxes, and how to handel your money. People's parents are doing a horrible job of teaching their kids how to function in soceity.

I agree. I took some business classes in high school, and I'm glad I did. They taught me how to properly do my taxes, and a lot of other little financing things as well.

Word up. At some point I will teach these classes at inner city high schools on a volunteer basis so the unprivileged and otherwise forsaken will have more than a fighting chance. I couldn't care less about some Privileged Petey in an affluent suburb.
