I liked it a lot, actually. I played the PC version, and most people played the PSX version, so I don't know if that makes a difference (it definitely seems better suited to a keyboard), but it was a very solid game with some intelligent puzzles that felt like Flashback. The graphics sucked and all, and it was a complicated game to control, but I liked it.

I never played Fade to Black but I found the idea of it very disappointing.

The ending of Flashback was just so beautiful, so satisfying. And after all that effort the aliens managed to invade Earth? It was like making a sequel to Aliens where Newt and Hicks get killed off during the opening credits (oh wait, that happened).

Not to mention all the screenshots looked like complete ass.

It's decent, but only if you look at it for what it is: an extension of OOTW.

with that said, it's extremely short and for the most part, uneventful, IIRC.

Nah, I played it on PC too. Actually, I think it was the first PC game I bought.

Yeah, it ought be noted that Heart of the Alien was actually developed by a US team for Virgin and no one who had anything to do with the original worked on it. It's essentially an imitation (they totally nailed the style and atmosphere though), but it's not bad. The original had a bit of a cliff hanger ending and it's nice to have a second episode. The one sort of odd style clash is that, in the post-Mortal-Kombat environment, the death sequences were tastelessly gory sometimes.

Also, it looks like www.anotherworld.fr is up and running. Hopefully the enhanced port goes live as planned tomorrow.
