  3. Load the config program and try running it with the "Safe Default" settings?

  4. No dice.

Can someone tell me what is supposed to happen? Is this program supposed to spend more than 5+ minutes loading?

No. Within 1 second it should go to the title screen, which will then do a little 3D zoom effect and reveal the menu.

  6. Yeah. Well, that shit ain't happening.

That sucks you can't get it to work as it's a fantastic version.

After I beat the remake, it made he want to go back and play the older versions since I have never been happy with my knowledge of how they varied. I played through all of Heart of the Alien again yesterday(it was harder than I remembered but still cool) and the Amiga version of OoTW(emulated) today. I plan on playing the others too.

I plan on doing the same with Flashback. I played a bit of the Amiga and Sega CD versions. I forgot how much I dislike the FMV CG in the Sega one although the CD sound is nice. Does the 3DO port have that too? That's the one version I have yet to play.

You know what's odd? How much better the Sega CD version looks compared to the Genesis version. It's much higher resolution.

There's a reverse-engineered hybrid version called Reminisence with the extended cutscenes of the DOS version (why the hell are these not in any other version? I understand the Genesis because of the 12-meg constraint, but surely the Jaguar could handle it) and the music of the Amiga version. You might want to check that out, too.

And yeah, those cutscenes on the CD versions ruined it for me. I think they're on the 3DO version, too, but I'm not sure.

  9. Interesting, 2 versions are available for Symbian mobiles...

In Q2 2005, Telcogames signed an exclusive agreement with french game developer studio Magic Productions to bring the worldwide mega hit game Another World to the mobile market. The game has been released in two versions for Symbian compatible handsets; the AMIGA game version and the Deluxe version featuring new improved graphics never seen on any console formats before.

EDIT: in case anyone is interested, you can buy it from Handango.com

  10. Actually both options are in a single release, just like the new Windows one.
