Thread: WWE Wrestling Discussion thread...

  1. Reno: The last time Angle and Benoit met...was it Wrestlemania 17? Well anyway, the crowd clapped then, too. I'm glad the crowd can realise it when two guys are busting ass for them.

I liked the show. The last match was absolutely retarded and it came close to totally ruining the whole show for me. Also, I thought it was rather odd that at the begining they had a long and very cool intro explaining the two world title matches and hyping them as the highlights of the entire card and then both matches end up with ref bumps and stupid finishes. Ugh. And I could not understand why Brock was selling so much for Taker. It was so lame. I mean, sure, you have to sell to make your opponent look good, but it was overkill in this match. Undertaker punches brock, he goes flying to the outside...zuh?

The first match(eight man tag) was good...it had awkward moments, but it was fast and fun.

IC match was also good, and I actually liked the ending, but then I thought it needed an extra ten minutes.

The womens match was also good. Nothing spectacular. But I usually don't expect much from the ladies.

Rosey/Jamal and Billy/Chuck was terrible. No reaction from the crowd. The fatter Island Boy really sucks. He was barely able to walk in the ring.

Edge and Eddy was awesome. I was shocked to see Eddy win this one. I actually wouldn't mind another match from those two.

Benoit and Angle was fucking gold. Plain and simple. So many awesome sequences in that match. Reversals, reversals, reversals...crowd went apeshit at times. I loved the ending sequence too. My god, I was practically screaming like a little bitch when Angle put the ankle lock on Benoit while he was in the crippler crossface. And then when Benoit was in the crossface and Angle pushed the ropes with his foot so Benoit couldn't reach them...hahaha...I was laughing.

The HLA segment was so lame. The moment that fat chich came out I knew it was Rikishi. Bischoff had me fooled when he was the Justice of the Peace guy, but last night Rikishi looked just like a Rikishi with darker skin and a wig on.

Well anyway, I'd say an overall good show...everything delivered except the Island Boyz/HLA crap and the Brock/Undertaker ending.

  2. Hm really? I never really noticed them clapping for their last match. Maybe it was because of the noise in the sports bar when I watched it there. Sports bar was deserted tonight so the sound was much better.

Edge vs Eddy was also good, I totally forgot about that match. I'm surprised that Mysterio wasn't in an actual match on the PPV. The guy is getting a good reaction, but he has no one to feud with right now. They really just need to do that Cruiserweight division so that guys like Jeff Hardy and Tajiri have some sort of purpose in the company. Poor Tajiri, my favourite wrestler (along with Mikey Whipwreck) in ECW... totally wasted in WWE
If my memory of her has an expiration date, let it be 10,000 years.

  3. Raw was above average tonight. I don't have anything to bitch about for once, it seems. Oh, and Hurricane and Kane rule the whole fucking world. Thank you and goodnight.

  4. I really liked Raw, and, Ashod, you're right, Hurricane and Kane were awesome...I love the team already.

I've been a mark for the Hurricane gimmick since 8/29/01, when it was first created. I'm glad he's now with Kane, should give him a nice star-power rub. I liked Raw tonight. Orton's jump is pointless, but Hurricane's is good. Kills the hope for more 3 Count reunion matches though.

  6. i think i stopped watching when the tag title match came up. all the matches before that were just ok i guess. maybe i'm still in a hateful mood after the ppv's finish. worst finish possible. and yea, brock selling to practically every punch and flying out was just ridiculous. really good match that just got ruined totally. ppv was decent though.

  7. Guerrero/Edge and Angle/Benoit reminded me of why I love wrestling.

And HHH and Taker's backstage politics leading to the ridiculous finishes for their respective matches reminds me of why I just hate it sometimes. Ugh...
    omg TNL epics!

  8. Smackdown Thoughts

Excellent show tonight. I heard rumblings on the internet that the Eddy and Edge match was supposed to be even better than their Unforgiven match, but it wasn't in my opinion. Eddy didn't capitalize enough on the fact that Edge had a concussion or whatever. He did work on Edge's head later on in the match, but by then it seemed kinda pointless. Regardless of that, though, it was a great match and was the best of the night.

Main Event was awesome for a ten minute match. It was just so fast and exciting. It was sort of like a lite version of the Angle/Benoit match from the PPV, only it had the added spice of the high-flying Mysterio. And Rey won, so this has to be going somewhere good...rematch at No Mercy? Hopefully.

I also enjoyed the Billy/Chuck and Noble/Tajiri match. No, really, I enjoyed it very much. The whole match clicked because of Billy Gunn's excellent selling. Yeah, you just read the words "Billy Gunn" and "excellent" in the same sentence.

Lastly, I liked how they started to build up Lesnar again. Making Undertaker bleed like a little bitch is a tiny step in the right direction. Let's hope Brock tosses Undertaker around at the PPV like he tossed Funaki around tonight.

Yes great SD Main Event though a little short for my taste. Amazing double 619 by Rey.

I'd love to see Rey go to Raw, Why? RVD vs Rey my dream match...

  10. I don't get fucking UPN, damn it, and shows like this are coming on Smackdown. I'd love it if they just fired 90% of the people on Raw and showed Smackdown twice a week.
