But what about the 95% of the rest of our shores? lmao. The govt. really took advantage of this whole Katrina BS, including that lame excuse by our govt. to raise prices...

So is Texas, but most of the oil is gone. And guess what, companies spend billions every year to search for new sources across the globe. They admit its getting harder to find them.

Oil is a finite resource. Once it gets burned up its gone forever. Delaying Peak Oil for 10 years while also turning Alaska, our most beautiful and pristine state, into a polluted husk is NOT sound policy.

As such the logical solution to this problem is to wean ourselves off oil and onto some other energy source. Not to drill for more fucking oil.

lmao, like any of us peons really know how much oil Bush and his buddies have got. Of course they're gonna be all, "omg we have hardly any oil," Cus if we all knew they really had a shitload, well, we'd all be really pissed that we had anything to do with the middle-east in the 1st place. And everyone knows what fucking around in the middle east has cost us....

I was talking about the SPR.

No, you really don't have a clue what the fuck you're talking about. The Anwar (sp?) reserve in Alaska has less oil in it than we would have saved had we not deregulated in the 80s. The drilling in Alaska shit buys you a few months, at most, of gas. The push for it has little to do with oil, and a lot to do with politics and approval. STFU.

Cost me $30 to fill my tank today - it normally takes me about $25. We're still at $2.72 on the base. Outside the base is about the same.

Ever watch the show 30 Days? It hasn't been on lately (I don't think), but it was the guy that did Super Size Me getting a show on FX where they try other things for 30 days. One episode had two "power hogs" living in a commune with little electricity and power. In one segment they show him going to a Honda plant and he actually drank the water from the exhaust... it didn't taste good, but he did it haha.

My car has a realtime mileage meter, and I don't come close to it. I usually get 42-43 vs. the 49+ I'm "supposed" to get.
