Thread: Command & Conquer 3

  1. Have you played Generals? It is literally a dozen times deeper and more interesting than BFME in every respect. And for that matter, Zero Hour is quite possibly the best expansion to any RTS ever as far as just adding so much extra strategic value, save for maybe the expansion to Total Anihilation.
Buy Yakuza and Oblivion. Help yourself, help TNL.

  2. The only thing that makes Generals more interesting than any other RTS is the ease in which it insults your basic sensibilities. Not only is it racist and crude but playing it is like playing in a dumpster. Just an unbelievably bad game. Red Alert 2 is the last C&C game.

[super crap]*[extra value] = [super crap]

BFME2 is a better game than BFME btw.

  3. Can one of you guys actually say something? I've learned absolutely nothing about why one is supposedly better than the other, you're both just repeating, "This one's awesome, that one's for stupidheads," over and over.

Here: BFME tells you where you can build your base. And I don't mean it gives you a friendly suggestion, or a helpful tutorial; it doesn't let you build anywhere other than where where it tells you. They literally have predetermined bases on the map, with predetermined spots for each of your buildings, including your guard towers and walls, the only input you have over which is to select the type of building to be put in one of the spots. And considering you don't even need half of the buildings, it really doesn't even matter, making the macro all but non-existent.

On top of that, there are, like, 5 units. Two of which are worth a damn. Strategy consists of amassing a screen filled with horses before the other guy, and fucking up his slightly smaller screen full of horses. Heroes are an afterthought, and the interface makes micromanging with them entirely unintuitive. So the micromanagement is completely boring, lacks almost any real strategy, and makes actually micromanaging your shit pretty impossible.

    Awesome game.

  8. AoM had defined sections of the map where you can build too.

That game rocked your face off though.

  9. I never said AoM sucked. It didn't.

    BFME, however, does.

  10. Shitty pics.
