Thread: Dimming the Sun

  1. No, the problem with this thread is that there is no where to actually take discussion. I mean, none of us are experts at this kind of stuff and are hardly capable of talking about it intelligently. And mainly this seems like an interesting tidbit but it is hardly anything that is radically going to change our world view.

Oh, and as far as politically charged television influencing people. I'd prefer shows like South Park and The Daily Show influence people more than the crap that is spouted on cable new programs. That said, people who take their information from this programs in a vacuum are morons. Hell, both South Park and The Daily Show continually ridicule their viewers who are in that position.

PBS' mom is gonna have to take some Tylenol after all the sweaty, venereal disease provoking ass pounding that has transpired since she made this documentary.

Well according to g0zen, those people deny global climate change, and cite fringe science against an acknowledged community position.

  5. I'm glad you were able to read what I wrote. That's a big step.

Seriously though, I've read a -whole- lot about global climate change so yes my opinion on the subject is an informed one whereas yours is a moronic pop culture one (ie; South Park, Daily Show, O'Reilly Factor, etc.).
    Time for a change

Yeah, but most topics have at least some cursorary direction people are capable of discussing. The ramifacations of the knowledge in that article is well laid out in the article. I don't think anybody here can say anything about it more than what is there. The only possible way this topic can go in seriousness is generally about the topic of global warming, a topic that is pretty tired here at TNL.

Yeah, well, you've really shown your knowledge on the subject. All I've gathered from your knowledge so far is so redundant and easily observed. Let's see...

the public at large, cares about Global Climate Change because they either a.) deny it
    Obviously...
b.) supply it (assholes like morphix who say "I own three hummers and am proud, FUCK the air I'll just buy cleaner stuff when it comes to that, like in Spaceballs)
    Again, redundant statement.
c.) avoid it (OMG who cares, stupid shit like ADVENT CHILDREN is ABOUT THE COME OUTTTTTT!)
That has been the problem for years. If that is you exerting your booksmarts on the subject, well, that's pretty sad. Personally, I just think you don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

We didn't have to argue about it per say. I watched the show and found the topic interesting and thought others would enjoy learning about it. I also thought maybe someone else here had read or seen something and might want to talk about it.

The topic of global warming isn't tired here. 90% of TNL hating soccer moms that drive SUVs and cause global warming and high gas prices is.

But if no one knows anything about this other than gozan, we can just lock the thread. I don't really want to discuss it with him because at some point he will accuse me of being racist against rain clouds.
