Thread: Culdcept Saga

  1. There's an easier way to grind out cards than replaying Santana Village against the CPU. Sticking with the same map will only get you several copies of a map-specific pool of cards, you have to vary it up a bit if you want to expand your library.

  2. I don't understand all this bitching about how hard the computer is. The last elemental stage I blew through, just like the 2-3 battles after that. The computer generally doesn't level up their lands, and they do boneheaded stuff in battles like not using defend cards, etc.
You don't have to be smart; you don't have to know the facts, you just have to be confident.

  3. Yeah, the AI is pretty shallow. For example, it's coded to always Crusher your most expensive item, not necessarily the one that poses the greatest threat to it.

AI characters do seem to get an awful lot of curiously lucky rolls, though.

  4. The only one that gave me a bunch of trouble was Colliseum III. How many stages are there anyways? Last I played I Finished all of those trials you had to do after the girl got kidnapped.

  5. I think I'm still around the third trial myself. Who has time for story mode when there are online matches to be disconnected from!

  6. I haven't played much online for that very reason.

Plus my deck isn't any good yet. Just a bunch of random cards with no theme.

The battle on Phoenixion sure does. He levels up one or two pieces of land of obscene levels, and then levels up the characters with poison and other spells. I'm having a bitch of a time with that level.

  8. Has anyone had a successful online game yet? Every one I've (about 7) has eventually crapped out and swapped in AI players. The chat must be handled differently though, as everyone is still connected despite the instanced games. I'm pretty pissed about the sloppy net-coding, since this is a dream online-game that doesn't really need to worry about latency at all in its implementation.

  9. I didn't have much of a problem at all during the first week of the game's release, but I don't think I was able to complete even a single match last week.

Coliseum III and that dumb-ass King's Cepter that started with a "T" were very difficult. I sailed through the next 4, though. I guess it's all luck. Every game wherein my opponent had a toll of 2K+, I landed on it, in those two scenarios.
