Thread: Culdcept Saga

  1. DO I LOOK LIKE I CARE!?
    Time for a change

  2. What does weeaboo even mean?
    Boo, Hiss.

  3. #53

  4. I like that site. Thanks.
    Boo, Hiss.

  5. That word was only funny in the most contextual sense where it was "created" in the PBF. I find it pretty stupid that it was taken to mean anything more than that, especially things contrary to its original context.

Nonetheless, that site is sorta handy in a geek-culture reference way.

Same goes for you, Finch. Except yours will be 'weeabootu'

What the fuck is so sacred about a word from an obscure comic strip that it can't be used in a different context? The dictionary is filled to bursting with everyday words we use now that began as something in a completely different context. Ever said 'okay'? Sure you have. Were you talking about a misspelling of all correct (oll korrect) or the 1840 Presidential Race in which Dem supporters of Martin van Buren called him 'Ole Kinderhook'? No? Well then I find it pretty stupid that you took it to mean anything more than that.

  8. I wished I liked Culdcept more.

Too much randomness and monopoly influences for me.

  9. Try Shadows of the Tusk for Saturn. It has the same board game/collectible card game vibe but has no randomness at all. It's more like a cross between Magic the Gathering and chess.

It's funny you say that, because I was saying to my brother the other day I wish there was more randomness. So many of the battles are a predetermined affair mathematically that the only real strategy comes from item bluffing and mind games. With the risk of making things too complicated, I hope in the new version creatures have a range of damage (like, 3d10, 2d6 etc), and more ways to influence the battle numbers (supports, global effects, or whatever...expand on what's already in the game). I suppose die randomness can be sucky, but there's so many cards to influence movement that you might not be making that a priority. Also, don't play on maps without branches...I find luck plays a larger role there.

    That's keeping things in perspective.
