Saw this on slashdot.
"Yesterday I was watching the Saturday morning talk shows here in Tokyo and they were talking about it. One of the commentators actually said, "In English that word means piss, why didn't they just name it kuso("shit" in Japanese)?!" All the other hosts laughed and agreed."
Actually, the Nintendo Kuso sounds ... not bad.
No gnus is good gnus.
I don't think I will ever get used to say, "I can't wait to get home and play with my Wii."Originally Posted by marwan

I hope that is a joke. That is another name that had to be explained with a 4 page mission statement, just like the Wii.Originally Posted by dakidski

This is hilarious. An analyst is defending the name by attempting to contrast it with Gizmondo and Ngage, saying that those names were "cool" but didn't sell. Good work.

"The DS' codename was originally Nitro (NTR), as stated few pages back."
Ah yes. SO DS had TWO code names (Nitro and DS) prior to them making its official name DS(they just stuck with the second code name)
They stuck with the codename for SP as well.
