I understand the controls are way too loose.

  2. I'm gonna call it the "Dubya eye eye".

    I thought everybody already did?

  3. Now that I've had a bit of time to think about it, it's grown on me a little. However, I absolutely cannot say the name without saying it "Nintendo Weeeeeee!"
WARNING: This post may contain violent and disturbing images.

  4. I recant my previous statement. After several conversations concerning the issue, Revolution sounds 100x better than Wii. Nintendo Go was the best, though.

  5. Man, that is just such an esoteric name. I don't know why Nintendo felt so compelled to not use "Revolution" which was just fine, and already reasonably well-branded among gamers. "Wii" just doesn't sound good.

Makes me wonder if deep down inside, Nintendo's new creed is "Wii don't want your money".

  6. CNN: "Nintendo Goes Wii ... (not a typo)"

How that general audience will react to the name remains to be seen. The core gaming community is already making its opinion known – and it's a resounding thumbs down.
"Here, I'll do it: Worst console name ever," wrote Chris Remo, an editor at Shacknews.com, whose sentiments were immediately echoed by dozens of users. Forum members on Gamespot.com, IGN.com and other gaming sites expressed similar thoughts.

So that's Wii. But now Nintendo needs you. Because it's really not about you or me. It's about Wii. And together, Wii will change everything.
This reminds me of that guy who legally changed his name to "They" to make a political statement. Although I think this is probably the lamest name ever, I can see myself getting used to it pretty quickly. Nintendo did a pretty good job of trying to corner the "lets name our new gadget something cute" market (iPod, Blackberry, Eyetoy, etc...)

*Edit: Ok it turns out that the guy changed his name to "They" for more of a joke than a political statement. My bad.

You mean seeing everyone else's hate and becoming a tool you recant your statement.
