ExactlyI think, in saying that people should come here and become part of our culture, means that when you come here, stop using things to divide yourself from others and instead become part of the bigger whole. Nobody is saying that you have to give up who you are or where you came from, but stop using those things to divide yourself from other Americans while also trying to claim that you're an American yourself.

The USA is a melting pot, and welcomely so. But just because you are taking some medial manual labor job for pennies on the dollar, does not mean you are supporting this country. Supporting the country as an individual is a lot more than economics.
These people are not here to be American. The are here for the value of the American dollar.
If they were here to be an American they would have followed whatever legal process was necessary no matter how long it took (yes I agree it is currently too long)
The Immigration laws and the processes were made and voted on by the people of this nation. If you have a problem with the process, do something about it. Vote, call your senators, raise awareness, etc. But no matter what the law is there for a purpose and was passed by the majority, no matter how assinine the law may seem to you as an individual.
By not obeying these laws they have even further divided themselves, and even moreso when using their country of origin as a platform in protests. IE waiving Mexican flags in the streets instead of US flags.
Go wave the US flag in another country where you are not a citizen and demand to be given rights in that country and see where that gets you
Waving that countries own flag would do a lot more for you
There are millions of ethiopians {insert 3rd worlder} who would do the same jobs the mexicans are taking , and would do them for even cheaper... but they have an ocean/larger landmass to cross
Just because you have a physically connected border, does not make it ok to enter this country as you please or even give you automatic rights.
There are many millions of people in poverty in many countries all over the world who would like to be here right now.
Immigration is regulated and limited and should be, you just cant open your doors all the way or you will have chaos You will also no longer have a border or a nation.
