For someone who is supposed to be PRO RNC, you've just demonstrated Reason Numero Uno why the R's days on top are numbered. The idea in politics is to grow your base, not alienate (ha!) future voters. Immigrants (particularly Latinos) are very sympathetic to the Republican Party's pro-family, socially conservative platform. Way to tell them to go D.

  2. I think, in saying that people should come here and become part of our culture, means that when you come here, stop using things to divide yourself from others and instead become part of the bigger whole. Nobody is saying that you have to give up who you are or where you came from, but stop using those things to divide yourself from other Americans while also trying to claim that you're an American yourself.
    Exactly

The same argument could be applied to political opinions, of which we have many in this country, religions, sports teams and types of pizza for crying out loud. Should we all just band together and have one political ideology, exclusively practice Christianity, root for the Yankees, and only eat DiGiorno? (Silly, I know.) We can justify it by saying, "Nobody is telling you to put aside your opinions and etc., but stop using those things to divide yourself from other Americans..."

    UNITED States of America

There is no justification, its straigtforward. The ideology is that we are one Nation. If you dont band together on that, then whats the point?

The USA is a melting pot, and welcomely so. But just because you are taking some medial manual labor job for pennies on the dollar, does not mean you are supporting this country. Supporting the country as an individual is a lot more than economics.

These people are not here to be American. The are here for the value of the American dollar.

If they were here to be an American they would have followed whatever legal process was necessary no matter how long it took (yes I agree it is currently too long)

The Immigration laws and the processes were made and voted on by the people of this nation. If you have a problem with the process, do something about it. Vote, call your senators, raise awareness, etc. But no matter what the law is there for a purpose and was passed by the majority, no matter how assinine the law may seem to you as an individual.

By not obeying these laws they have even further divided themselves, and even moreso when using their country of origin as a platform in protests. IE waiving Mexican flags in the streets instead of US flags.

Go wave the US flag in another country where you are not a citizen and demand to be given rights in that country and see where that gets you

Waving that countries own flag would do a lot more for you

There are millions of ethiopians {insert 3rd worlder} who would do the same jobs the mexicans are taking , and would do them for even cheaper... but they have an ocean/larger landmass to cross

Just because you have a physically connected border, does not make it ok to enter this country as you please or even give you automatic rights.

There are many millions of people in poverty in many countries all over the world who would like to be here right now.

Immigration is regulated and limited and should be, you just cant open your doors all the way or you will have chaos You will also no longer have a border or a nation.

Cheez, easy on the melodrama. It's simply in a nation's best interest to keep a majority language, end of story. Yeah, the immigrants have to work to learn it, but it's just common courtesy to learn a basic knowledge of the dialect of a country you've chosen to live in. That's not asking them to forfeit their culture or any hyperbolic bullshit, it's just a matter of good guestmanship; you don't come into someone's house and expect the hosts to adapt to you.

  5. The thing about melting pots is that what's already in the pot is influenced by what you put in it.
You put chocolate into a melting pot full of marzapan, the chocolate doesn't turn into marzapan, it mixes with it and makes something new.
Culture is no different, and it's naive to expect people to just drop their native culture at the border and become what is now considered american.

  6. alls i knows is that i hate the f ing wetback beaners but my family needs them to run a profitable business.

americas ecomomy would be even worse if we didnt have the beaners.

  7. You don't need to combine slurs like that man, one is enough to stand on its own. You're shooting off all your rounds at once. Start to think about lightly peppering your posts with ignorant racial slurs so each sentence is just as spicy delicious as the rest.

Wetback, spic, chico, greaser, taco, beano, beaner and the endless amount of bean related ones can be used to this affect.

That goes both ways, though. You shouldn't jump in the melting pot if you're not ready to melt a little.

  10. All this talk of pots and potatoes and stew is making me hungry, damn it!
