This seems like a game that sharply underscores how broken the video game criticism "industry" is, between the review embargos and the numbered scores (of certain outlets) that differ vastly from the actual content of the reviews.

I'm sure AC is pretty decent in all truth, but the marketing money poured into this thing totally overshadows what the game actually is.

Guess I'll wait for it to hit the bargain bin, since it still seems like a good game, just not full price worthy.

In an ass backwards kind of way, I am glad this underachieved. Now I can rent it without being tempted to buy it. It's not like I don't have other things to play.

In the serious glut of games in the second half of this year, there was bound to be a casualty or two. I'm surprised that this is the first genuine disappointment among all the Call of Duty, Bioshock, Mario etc. madness.

I'm building a pretty secure rental pile, and if gamefly would just have their damn east coast distribution center ship to NY they would have a customer by now.
