Does Evolution Worlds (Gamecube) let you move around your characters with the D-pad?

I was just wondering if Evolution Worlds (Gamecube - NOT the original DC versions) let you move around your characters with the D-pad?

(as opposed to the Main analog stick)

Anyone know?

Why in the balls would you want to use the GC d-pad if you had the option not to?
