The controllers are bluetooth. This refers to connecting online via wifi. The $499 system will have to use ethernet.

Well there isn't any fucking launch game that will make me spend 600 dollars for. I'm getting a 360 and a Wii and I'll be set until the ps3 hits 300 bucks

Last years Tekken vid looked better imo.

tekken trailer looked pretty bad.. it had jin and nina(?) fighting... and paul driving his motorcycle through a stained glass window to save the day... it was strange, it didnt' look like pre-rendered footage... but it wasn't playable content.


also: i bought the sega cd at launch for $400.. can't really beat that.

For that matter, the $500 machines won't be able to output games in 1080p over component video. For sony to be touting the "full hd resolution" claim, you think they would back it up by making it possible on all ps3s. I guess it is possible they could come out with an accessory dvi cable.

That sounds like something Sony'd do: trick some people into buying a retard pack and then rape them selling accessories. I reckon at launch there'll be memory stick adapter and Wi-Fi add-ons.

I don't know much about video, so would it even be possible to sell a DVI or HDMI add-on if it isn't built into the system?

If the system doesn't output a digital signal, then no cable could add that functionality.
BTW, HDCP can actually work through component.
