I've been on a huge MG kick lately and I was getting ready to pick up ops... so it'd be nice if we got a US release announcement soon.

Good deal since I just got my PSP for FFT, and MGS:PO was on my definite buy list from the get-go.

Since I'll have this sometime around Friday, anyone up for some online shenanigans around then? I need to break my PSP's online cherry, rather do it with someone I know just to be safe.

Yeah, you don't want to fight randoms in MGPO, there's a very good chance you'll run into some jackhole who's hacked his save file to make soldiers so good they're literally impossible to get legitimately. This is why I'm actually glad Square didn't bother with an online mode for FFT.

Just to be clear, I do WANT online FFT, but PSP is NOT the platform for it.
